We are under constant attack from emails, phone calls, solicitors, spammers, advertising reps, etc…. from hosting companies that offer websites, website designers that offer SEO, directories that offer 1st page rankings, etc….
With the constant changes taking place online it’s now impossible for most independent business to keep up with online marketing strategies and still keep up with day to day tasks effectively.
Obstacle #2: Convenience
Time is a more valuable commodity than money. You may be familiar with the saying “You can make more money, but you can’t make more time.” Again, you could spend so much of your time each week trying to keep up with all the online changes, that your current customers suffer.
Obstacle #3: Consistency
We live in a society that thrives on having everything in a moments notice. The examples are endless: Fast Food, Instant Oatmeal, Turbo Tax, etc… The problem is that fast does not always equate to best.
It depends on your situation though. If you are only going to be in business 6 months or less, a radio, tv or direct mail, or strictly Pay Per Click campaign may be the way to go. But if you are planning on keeping your business for a while longer, then a solid, steady, consistent plan is likely the better choice.
Obstacle #4: Cost
This is often one of the first questions that comes to mind when researching marketing options. Another familiar saying “Price is only an issue in the absence of value” puts this into perspective.
Eliminating confusion, providing convenience, returning consistent results over time and providing a great value should all be obstacles you overcome for your customers and ones we strive to overcome for ours.
